On February 18, 2015 our classmate, Daniel Joseph Stedman, entered into the kingdom of God and had funeral services held for him in Minden, Louisiana on February 21, 2015. Danny had for several years battled cancer and was unable to attend our 50th Anniversary Reunion because of that affliction. After Carroll he served his country in the United States Navy. He later joined the D.C. Fire Department and served 23 years with the Truck 5-Dent Place Georgetown,Ambulance 6, Engine 3, Engine19 and Engine 32, and the Fire Boat,John Glenn. In Louisiana he was a Christus Schumpert Hospital volunteer in the cancer ward. He was also a member of AA with 31 years of sobriety. He is survived by his wife, son,daughter and seven grandchildren. Please keep Danny and his family in your prayers.

Minden, LA Memorial services for Daniel Joseph Stedman will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden, Louisiana with Rev. Josh Beshea officiating.
Daniel was born April 8, 1945 and entered into rest February 18, 2015. He served his country in the United States Navy. Daniel retired from the Washington D.C. Fire Department after 23 years of service serving on Truck 5-Dent Place Georgetown, Ambulance 3, Engine 19, and Engine 32, and the Fire Boat,- John Glenn. He was a volunteer at Christus Schumpert Hospital in the cancer ward, cooked with Dutch Oven Club at Lake Bistineau State Park and was a member of AA with 31 years sobriety.
He is survived by Lisa Stedman of Minden, son Daniel Stedman, Jr. and wife Julie and their children Josh, Matthew, Allie, and Heather of Arizona, daughter Tracie Suzenski and husband Joe and their children Danielle, Haley, and Keeley of Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .

Danny and his family will be in our prayers. I talked to Danny last year when an update of his current home and phone number was posted on the reunion Web.
