Friday Evening Social-Crowne Plaza, Potomac Bar and Grill-September 26

From 7:30pm until 10:00 pm we will have an informal gathering of our classmates at this subterranean tavern in the hotel with light food and drinks. This event is targeted as classmates (guys) only. There are other areas in the hotel where any “significant other” may decide to gather and share stories about how wonderful we are. Dress is casual. This will be a cash bar event so no advance or cover charge is required. A section of the bar and grill will be blocked off only for us. Local classmates driving to the event and not staying overnight at the hotel may park in the hotel’s underground garage without cost.

Saturday Afternoon Football – Carroll vs. O’Connell at ACHS - September 27

Kickoff is 2:00 pm.  Come and cheer our Carroll Lions team onto victory. ACHS has arranged for reserved seating with complimentary tickets. Just let the gate attendant know who you are. You will, however, have to pay for parking. If you think you may leave early in order to buff-up for the Saturday dinner or for some other reason, make sure you tell the attendant that you need to park in a space where you will be able to leave early without being blocked in.

Saturday Night Reunion Banquet Dinner – Crowne Plaza, Arlington Ballroom – September 27

This is our big event for the weekend so feel free to wear your best suit with tie or be daring and wear a bowtie, but just wear what is comfortable and brings out your conversational best. We are preparing name tags for you and your guest to make it easier for us to remember our own names. Unlike our Carroll teachers we will not insist on assigned seating, so sit with whomever you want. The cost of the banquet dinner is $125 per person.

For the address see Reunion Hotel above. The ballroom is on the Mezzanine level of the hotel. Classmates driving to the dinner and not staying at the hotel may park free in the hotel’s underground garage for this event.

We have the Ballroom between 6 pm and 10 pm. The activities will flow in approximately this manner:

  • 6-7 pm - An Open Bar (beer, wine and soft drinks); Mixed drinks will be available, but will be charged.

  • 7-9 pm – Dinner

    • Open bar continues during the first hour of dinner (7-8), but it’s a cash bar after that.

    • Rolls with butter and assorted baby field greens with croutons, tomatoes, cucumbers and cheese.

    • Main dinner plate: choice of one of the following:

      • 12oz. New York Strip Steak, served with five peppercorn demi-glaze with Baked Potato and Fresh Green Beans, or

      • Stuffed Salmon with Crab, Bay Shrimp & Brie over Wild Rice and Fresh Green Beans, or

      • Pasta Primavera, Penne Pasta with fresh vegetables, tossed with fresh herbs and olive oil topped with basil marinara sauce.

  • Dessert: Double Fudge Chocolate Cake or Carrot Cake.

  • Freshly brewed coffee, decaffeinated coffee, iced tea and ice water.

  • 9-10 pm – Reminiscing, socializing and maybe a few surprises

Sunday Memorial Mass and Brunch With School Tour – Carroll Chapel – September 28

We will have a Memorial Mass presided by Father John Mudd (Class of 1961 and recently retired president of Carroll) at the Carroll Chapel at 10:00 am to remember our departed classmates, who have gone to the Father. See the list of the departed at the In Memory folder of our website. A brunch will follow the Mass in Alumni Hall and there will be a tour of the school after our fill. Dress is business casual. Cost is $15 per person for the brunch.
